Worry can steal your rest.  What if your thoughts about #Sleeplessness #insomnia are part of the problem?

Recently I had a situation came up that might have caused me a Law of Attraction headache a year ago.

In the night I woke up thinking about it. Not worrying, but not sleeping either. I just had to share with you how the Universe inspired me out of my sleeplessness!!

First of all, I got my heavy blanket (more about this at the end of this post) and snuggled under it. Then, of all things, a peacock entered my thoughts. As my mind rolled around the idea of a peacock, it was simple and undemanding. I imagined the blue head, the beautiful tail, how the tail shook when the male wanted attention…..hahaha!

When Abraham Hicks says that it only takes 14 seconds to change a thought stream, they are right.

Once I had pondered peacocks for awhile, my mind went to other animals. Next thing I knew, it was morning! Why is it getting easier and easier to relax and enjoy TODAY’S manifestations, whatever they are and however they show up!!!!! It felt great to have overcome my thinking so I could go to sleep. It felt even better when this happened next. Later in the day, I followed an inner nudge. To be honest, I got the nudge two or three times before I acted.

Then look what I found when I followed the urge to look up the symbolism of the Peacock. Crazy AF, right?

“The peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors. In history, myth, legend and lore, the peacock symbolism carries portents of: Nobility, Holiness, Guidance, Protection and Watchfulness.” whats-your-sign.com

“Peacock symbolism: Vision, Royalty, Spirituality, Awakening, Guidance, Protection, & Watchfulness. In Greco-Roman mythology the Peacock tail has the “eyes” of the stars. In Hinduism, the Peacock is associated with Lakshmi who represents patience, kindness and luck.” mindbodyspirit-online.com

“Ancient Greeks believed that the flesh of peafowl did not decay after death, and so it became a symbol of immortality. This symbolism was adopted by early Christianity, and thus many early Christian paintings and mosaics show the peacock.” wikipedia.org

“In Hinduism, the Peacock is associated with Saraswati, a deity representing benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and knowledge.” crystalinks.com

“Peacock Feather tattoos symbolize different characteristics in birds like truth, courage, bravery, freedom, travel and more. Some cultures and civilizations view feathers as messages from the spirit world.” tattooeasily.com

Like I said, I was grateful enough that I got a good night’s sleep.

Please notice that I got that nudge three times before I listened. People think that I am an expert and I understand that. I really am exactly like everyone. We all have choices to look for a solution or dwell on the problem. Night time worries are not easy. It takes discipline to mind your mind! I get it. I am glad I answered that nudge because once I read the full meaning of that random peacock that showed up in my mind, I heard what I really needed to hear, right?

When I was recovering from cancer in 2007 and 2008, I learned about The Heavy Blanket. I learned about it from my work with special education children who are highly anxious. I have been using this magical tool every day pretty much ever since. Take a look at this site and read up on it.
